So I did lose weight (30lbs) but now I’ve gained it back and more. I pretty young and still want to lose the weight so I was thinking about gastric because even when I did lose the weight I still felt as if I could eat a lot more. However, the problem I seem to see with gastric is the extra skin.
My questions:
How much does it cost (range)?
With working out can I avoid extra skinny, totally?
The risks?
Does health insurance cover it or even part (Toronto, ON)?
Lastly, anything you want to add experience etc…

I am really considering Gastric bypass I just have some problems. First of all, I guess its best to let you know I am 6ft and 335lbs. male and I am 20yrs. old also I live in N.J.. I know this is severely overweight and morbidly obese. I am a full time student I also work full time. I am still covered under my dads insurance (cigna) which I believe has some type of gastric bypass coverage(not totally sure). What am trying to find out is how to tell my parents that I want to get this done I am afraid of it being shot down and dismissed as just a fad or phase. I already got 1 back surgery under my belt, and my back is only gonna get worse if I stay at this weight, my health can only get worse. Besides that how much is it gonna cost (with and without insurance). What are the after cost? I know there are many different procedures which one would be best for me? What major life changes will I have to make after the surgery? um….. If you can think of something else I should know plz comment
thx

Well I have been on this program for about 6 months and have lost 20lbs. Its has helped my dad get off blood pressure medicine and my grandmother has lowed her insulin hots to half the dosage that she used to use. Im just trying to help america like someone has help me. This program allows youto lose the weightsafer and healthier. Asto you losin very quickly with gastric bypass. The thing that people fail to relieze is that they still end up on my program after all the surgery. So why not cut out the surgery and try my program. I garentee that if you follow it correctly you will see resultswithin thefirst week

I understand that there are diseases, genetics, and other factors that affect weight but there is a point on the way to becoming so obese your life is threatened, that you realize you have to change.
In Ontario, if a certain BMI is reached, Ontario Health Insurance Plan covers the cost of getting a gastric bypass surgery or another extreme weight loss surgery. Gastric bypass is around $16000-$18000. As I tax payer, I don’t see why I should have to compensate for people who can’t control themselves. These people need help for mental disorders; not surgery.
We can judge people who smoke because of their addiction and express our belief/opinions of religion, etc., but it’s still so taboo to say ANYTHING to people about how wrong it is to be obese!!!
***When I say fat or obese, I don’t mean chubby. I mean people who are extremely unhealthy because of weight***

my friend is in bad shape he had a gastric bypass 5 yrs ago and was in alot of pain and due to long cut ,would be in pain until healed.13 months later he went to his dr#1 and complained of excruciating pain still. dr#1 said don’t worry! well he wanted 2nd op. and dr#2 did egd and found a 4″ jp drain protruding through his new stomach. he took it out. after many tests they said it damaged internal parts and will be in pain for ever . he got a lawyer and they used the dr#2 that removed the tube for expert witness. well then 3 years later the dr#2 that was the expert wit lost his license and was told he no longer has a case due to dr2 losing license! and lawyer said he would not put any more into the case because he was out $$$$k.before the dr#2 lost license he had perfect case. lawyer said no good. and lawyer says he wants to settle for costs. Is someone paid off???case changed from good to bad for him really quick? lawyer is closing case! is friend obligated to settle for fees?
