Does anyone know anything about gastric banding. Is it as dangerous as gastric bypass? How much does it cost?

Do the people that have one of these procedures done lose weight because they are simply eating less do to the sense of being full all the time or is there more to it? What I mean is if I ate as little as someone who let’s say had gastric bypass done then wouldn’t I see the same results? Is it just about eating less or do these surgeries cause the body to act in other ways to help with the weight loss?

I am 22 and have been overweight most of my life I am now morbidly obese and I need to loose weight! .I feel I am way to heavy and it’s not good for my health. what’s the procedure to get gastric bypass surgery covered by OHIP in ontario, canada? Where do I start? Any doctors recommended? contact numbers? does anybody have the application or paperwork i need to fill in?

I am only a teenager, but have been putting a lot of thought into this, i am scared but believe i can do it. And i really think i would be a healthier and happier person.
