Do Most Insurance Companies Cover The Costs Of Cosmetic Surgery?

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

If you have gastric bypass surgery such as the Lap Band, and you lose the weight, and left with loose skin do some insurance companies cover the costs to have the loose skin removed (I’m thinking it’s called liposuction)

I Want To Know How Much It Costs To Get A Gastric Bypass Surgery.?

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Gastric Bypass Surgery/gastrectomy/lapband (all types of weight loss surgery) is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.
I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your lobesity surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
My cousin got her obesity surgery in India throught the forerunners healthcare .SHe is more than very happy with the results. She has lost 65lbs in 5 months. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps

Should Insurance Companies Have To Pay The Costs Associated With Gastric Bypass Surgeries Y Or Y Not?

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

No because insurance should only pay for things that are a health risk or bodily injury. I don’t think that insurance companies should pay for any plastic surgery, implants, etc. Just the regular things…heart transplants, liver transplants, life saving surgeries, flu, cold, things of that sort. People who need to lose weight, should eat more healthy, go on a diet, excercise, do gardening, etc. Do not turn to gastric bypass surgery or liposuction or things like that…
Hope this helps!!!
In reponse to djbreed_2000, I disagree. If ther person had taken care of their selves, they would not have to turn that way. All that person needs is the motivation. Motivation to live, breathe, walk, play with children/grand children, have children, do things they can’t do, etc. It’s just really sad to see people eat their way to an unhealthy lifestyle.
