My sister is has been going to her doctor for a while now to prove she is ready for the surgery and has lost 30 lbs and has been taking test to see if she would qualify and she does. Now she is hearing all the worst side effects and might not do it.

I am wanting to know if anyone has had the surgery and if something went wrong and the side effects.

I don’t eat junk food,I eat pretty normal meals. I’ve been trying to cut back on the fast food,and the late night snacks. I tried exercising,but it just got annoying and tiring. I know that I cant expect much if I’m not going to do anything,but I really don’t have time to exercise and diets never work for me. WHAT CAN I DO? I need to lose 30 (or more) pounds by March! I have heard that it is harder to get pregnant if you are overweight. I am overwieght by a little bit but I would just call myself kind of chunky. How much does this really jepordize me getting pregnant? Have any of you had kids when you were not at your “ideal caluclated weight? (and I am trying to loose that extra bit).

This is for people who perform gastric bypass surgery or who have had it. I am attending a seminar next week and I am hoping to qualify for gastric bypass surgery. I have researched a lot about the requirments and I feel I’m borderline. Can someone please tell me if they think I would be able to qualify for gastric bypass?? My info: I’m 23 yrs old, I weigh 240 because I gained 55 pounds with my recent pregnancy which was 7 months ago, hight is 5′5″ and my BMI is like between 38-40. The only co-morbidities I have is very bad back pain, breathing issues but not asma, high cholesterol, and limited physical cabibilities. But I do have obesity, stroke, diabetes, cancer, and high blood pressure problems in both sides of my immediate family so I am at risk for sure. I want this so bad I’m not comfortable or happy and I want to be healthy for my daughter.

Is it because at that mass, the benefits of Alli no longer out-weigh the benefits of being slimmer?
